Latent Innocence
The Foundation of Sire
A Misunderstood Art Form + the justification for a change.
Exposing the truth behind graffiti, reframing it as an art form rooted in natural innocence. Human nature acts as the lawyer - guiding & justifying the art form - showing how instinct and expression merge to create work that is purely one-of-a-kind.
(Research)
To inform this section, research was conducted across both historical and contemporary sources, tracing graffiti back to early human mark-making as a natural and instinctive form of expression. We examined studies on graffiti as social commentary, along with its role in shaping identity, culture, and communication. This research reframes graffiti as a fundamental human impulse - rooted in the need to leave a mark, share a voice, and exist within a space.
(Experience)
Through this process, the experience became a shift in perspective - reframing graffiti as a culture rooted in instinct, expression, and human truth. What is often overlooked or misunderstood reveals itself as something worth believing in: a raw, honest form of art that exists because it has to.
